I miss the candy. :-( And I don't even have a sweet tooth, I wonder how Max is taking it. See that's the problem we get hooked!

I feel compelled to set the record straight! We give out full sized candy bars to the kids we know (none of which have a weight problem) then we give snack size to all the unknown kids and I give yogurt covered raisins to the little ones (generally the under 3's). But I do confess I love candy and think between Halloween and the winter holidays there is room for some indulgence- just make sure you off set it with exercise and physical activities. Chocolate is actually turning out to be good for you - just watch the fat content!!

I'm about 18 weeks pregnant myself and I have noticed a dramatic increase in my cravings for sweets. Not all sweets though. Chocolate makes me feel nauseous. I crave candy made of pure sugar- necco wafers, hot tamales, candy corn, etc. It all started when I was try to cope with some wicked morning sickness. It turned out that sugary treats calmed my upset stomach- especially early in the morning. Now, whenever I feel a slight twinge of nausea (or hunger), I immediately reach for something made of 99% sugar. Probably not the best thing for my baby, or my teeth. I will have to try to cut back...

Note the empty candy wrappers in the image. There was more of it to begin with. Quite different from the usual Odwalla bars you'll see our staff noshing on in the break room.
